Free online poker with no download
FizzPoker runs entirely in your browser. Deal a table, send the link, and your friends tap it and sit down — nothing to install, no app store, and no account for games of 2–4 players. It works on any phone, tablet or computer, and can live on your home screen like an app.

How no-download poker works
When you open a table link, your browser loads the table screen and opens a live connection to FizzPoker’s game server. The server does all the real work: it shuffles, deals, enforces the rules, runs the betting clock and settles every pot. Your browser shows the table and sends your actions — fold, call, raise — and the server decides whether they’re legal.
That split is why nothing needs installing. There’s no game engine on your phone to keep updated; when FizzPoker ships a fix, the next page load has it. It’s also why everyone sees the same table at the same moment, whether they’re on an old Android phone or a new laptop.
The game itself is No-Limit Texas Hold’em, played as a freezeout tournament for 2–9 players: everyone starts with 10,000 chips, the blinds rise on a clock, and the last player with chips wins. For what a full game looks like, see free Texas Hold’em.
Add it to your home screen (optional)
You never have to, but if you play every week, installing puts a FizzPoker icon next to your apps. It opens full-screen without the browser’s address bar, and it’s the same site underneath — no app store, no store account, no separate updates. Button names below are the current ones and move around between browser versions.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open fizzpoker.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button. On iOS 26 it sits inside the ••• menu next to the address bar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Leave Open as Web App switched on, then tap Add.
Android (Chrome)
- Open fizzpoker.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu.
- Tap Add to Home screen — newer versions call it Install app or Install and create shortcut.
- Tap Install to confirm.
Computer (Chrome)
- Open fizzpoker.com in Chrome.
- Click the Install icon at the right end of the address bar — or open the ⋮ menu and choose Cast, save, and share, then the install option.
- Confirm with Install. FizzPoker opens in its own window from then on.
Computer (Microsoft Edge)
- Open fizzpoker.com in Edge.
- Click the App available icon in the address bar — or open … Settings and more, then Apps, then Install this site as an app.
- Click Install.
To remove it, delete the icon like any other app. Tables you open from the icon work exactly like tables in the browser tab. On iPhone and iPad the home-screen app keeps its storage separate from Safari, so finish a game in the one you started it in.
What your browser needs
- A current browser with JavaScript on: Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and the other modern browsers all work. Private or incognito windows work too, but forget you when you close them.
- An internet connection for the whole game. Tables are live, so there’s no offline play. If your connection drops, the table holds your seat while you reconnect; if you’re gone longer, you’re sat out and your hands are checked or folded until you tap “I’m back”.
- Site storage allowed for fizzpoker.com. That’s how the table recognizes you after a reload.
- Any screen, portrait or landscape. A phone is plenty; a bigger screen shows more of the table at once.
There’s no voice or video chat in the game, so keep a FaceTime, Zoom or Discord call open next to the table — see games to play over FaceTime for setups that work.
What’s stored on your device
Skipping the download doesn’t mean skipping privacy questions, so here is everything FizzPoker itself keeps in your browser, taken from the code that writes it. None of it is your name, email, phone number or payment details — there are no payments at all.
device_tokenLocal storage, plus a cookie kept for one year · Everyone- A random 256-bit code the server creates the first time you open FizzPoker. It’s your anonymous identity: it puts you back in your seat after a refresh or a dropped connection, and it moves your past games to your account if you sign in later. It contains nothing about you.
display_nameLocal storage · After your first table- The name you last typed at a table, so you don’t have to type it again.
fizz_themeLocal storage · If you change a setting- Your display settings: High-Legibility theme, CRT effects, reduced motion and the four-color deck.
sw_app_versionLocal storage · Everyone- The app version you last loaded, so an update can be picked up cleanly.
session_idSession storage (gone when the tab closes) · Everyone- A random id that groups one visit’s usage events in FizzPoker’s own analytics.
first_touchLocal storage · Everyone- Where your very first visit came from — a campaign tag, a table or recap link someone shared, or the name of the site that linked here — as a short label. FizzPoker’s own analytics use it to see which channels bring new players.
app_user_idLocal storage, plus sign-in session cookies · Signed-in players only- Your account’s id, so usage events count toward your account. Signing in also sets the session cookies, and a one-hour cookie that remembers which page to return you to after the emailed link.
poker_test_lastLocal storage · If you take the poker test- Your answers from the last poker test, so the test can show your previous score.
home_audio_mutedLocal storage · If you mute it- Whether you muted the music on the home screen.
fizz-shell-v1Service worker cache · Everyone- The start page and the app manifest, so the home-screen icon opens quickly. Game state is never cached — every table is live.
The live site also runs Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits, and those set their own cookies. To wipe everything, clear the site data for fizzpoker.com in your browser settings; the next visit starts with a fresh anonymous code. If you’d signed in, your games stay with your account.
When you’d want a free account
Everything above works anonymously for tables of 2–4 players, including one bot. A free account — you sign in with an emailed link, so there’s no password and no card — adds tables for 5–9 players, more bots for empty seats (five levels), a Fizz Score review of your decisions after each game, a Stats tab with your own numbers and coach’s advice, and leagues with all-time standings for a regular group. Only the host needs one to open a bigger table; guests still just tap the link — except at league tables, which are for signed-in members.
Questions people ask
Can I play poker online for free without downloading anything?
Yes. Browser-based poker runs as a web page, so there is nothing to install. On FizzPoker you deal a No-Limit Texas Hold’em table at fizzpoker.com, send the link, and your friends join from whatever browser they have.
Does no-download poker work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Any current browser works — Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome or another browser on Android, and Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a computer. Players on different devices can sit at the same table.
Do my friends need to sign up or install anything?
No install, ever. Guests open the link, type a name and take a seat; the host needs a free account only for tables of 5–9 players or to add more than one bot, and tables for 2–4 players need no account at all. The one exception is a league table, which seats signed-in league members only.
Can I play browser poker offline?
No. Every table runs live on the server — the shuffle, the deal and the rules are all handled there — so each player needs an internet connection. Adding the game to your home screen makes it open faster, not work offline.
What does browser poker store on my device?
On FizzPoker: a random anonymous device code that keeps your seat if you reload, the name you last used, your display settings and a small app cache — no email, password or payment details. Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes all of it.
Is FizzPoker really free?
Yes. There’s nothing to buy and no real money anywhere: chips have no cash value, and there are no buy-ins, prizes or payouts. You play for the win.
