What you get, free
The game is the one you see on TV and at home games: No-Limit Texas Hold’em, played as a tournament. Every table is a freezeout — everyone buys in once with play chips, nobody rebuys, and the game ends when one player has them all.
- 2–9 players per table
- Heads-up to a full ring. Tables for 2–4 need no account; a free account (email sign-in link, no password, no card) unlocks 5–9 seats.
- 10,000 chips each, rising blinds
- Everyone starts level. Blinds climb on a clock you choose, so every game builds toward a finish.
- Bots when your friends are busy
- Any host can seat a bot from Level 1 to Level 5, clearly labeled at the table; signed-in hosts can seat several. Meet the five bots.
- A second opinion after the game
- Signed-in players get a Fizz Score: each decision is compared with game-theory models and labeled acceptable, inaccuracy, mistake or blunder. It’s advisory, and never shown during play.
- Rematch, recap and leagues
- One tap on the results screen deals a rematch with the same seats and blinds. Every game gets a shareable recap card with awards, and regular groups can start a league with all-time standings (free account).
- Any device, nothing to install
- Phone, tablet or computer, in the browser you already have — with a High-Legibility theme, reduced motion and a four-color deck one tap away. How the no-download setup works.
What it isn’t: a casino. There are no buy-ins in money, no chips to purchase, and nothing to cash out. The only thing you take home is the win.
How to start a free Texas Hold’em game
- Deal a tableTap “Deal a free table”, type your name, and pick the number of seats (2–9) and a blind speed: turbo, fast, normal or slow.
- Send the linkYour table gets its own private link. Copy it or share it straight to your group chat.
- Friends take a seatThey open the link in any browser, type a name and tap “Take a seat” — no app and no account.
- Start the gameAs host, you start once at least two players are seated. Any host can add one bot; signed-in hosts can fill every empty seat with bots.
- Play to the last stackEveryone starts with 10,000 chips, the blinds rise on the clock, and the last player with chips wins.
The link is the only way in — there’s no public lobby, so strangers can’t drop into your game. Seats lock when the game starts; anyone who drops out can reopen the link on the same device and sit back down. More on that in how private tables work.
The blind ladder and level speeds
Every table uses the same twelve-level ladder. The only thing you choose is how long each level lasts: turbo is 3 minutes, fast 5, normal 10 and slow 15. The clock runs in real time, blinds change only between hands, and the last level holds until someone has every chip.
| Level | Blinds | Turbo | Fast | Normal | Slow | Stack in BB |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50/100 | 0:00 | 0:00 | 0:00 | 0:00 | 100 |
| 2 | 75/150 | 0:03 | 0:05 | 0:10 | 0:15 | 66.7 |
| 3 | 100/200 | 0:06 | 0:10 | 0:20 | 0:30 | 50 |
| 4 | 150/300 | 0:09 | 0:15 | 0:30 | 0:45 | 33.3 |
| 5 | 200/400 | 0:12 | 0:20 | 0:40 | 1:00 | 25 |
| 6 | 300/600 | 0:15 | 0:25 | 0:50 | 1:15 | 16.7 |
| 7 | 400/800 | 0:18 | 0:30 | 1:00 | 1:30 | 12.5 |
| 8 | 500/1,000 | 0:21 | 0:35 | 1:10 | 1:45 | 10 |
| 9 | 700/1,400 | 0:24 | 0:40 | 1:20 | 2:00 | 7.1 |
| 10 | 1,000/2,000 | 0:27 | 0:45 | 1:30 | 2:15 | 5 |
| 11 | 1,500/3,000 | 0:30 | 0:50 | 1:40 | 2:30 | 3.3 |
| 12 | 2,000/4,000 | 0:33 | 0:55 | 1:50 | 2:45 | 2.5 |
Start times on the blind clock (hours:minutes). “Stack in BB” is a 10,000-chip starting stack measured in that level’s big blinds.
Read the last column as pressure. At 100 big blinds you can play patiently; by 20 or so, most decisions are about when to move all-in. A player who hasn’t won a pot is under 20 big blinds from level 6 onward — that’s 0:15 into a turbo game, 0:50 into a normal one. Turbo is built for a weeknight game among friends that fits in well under an hour; slow is for a long, deep evening.
Texas Hold’em in 60 seconds
Each player gets two private hole cards. Five community cards are dealt face up in the middle — three on the flop, one on the turn, one on the river — and your hand is the best five cards you can make from your two plus the board’s five.
Before the cards, the two players left of the dealer button post the small and big blind, so there’s always something to play for. There’s a betting round before the flop and after each new street. On your turn you can fold, check (if nobody has bet), call, bet or raise — and in No-Limit, a bet can be anything up to your whole stack: all-in.
If two or more players are left after the river, they show down and the best hand wins the pot; identical hands split it. That’s the whole game — the demo above plays the showdown part without the betting. For the full walk through, read how to play Texas Hold’em, and keep the hand rankings open for your first few games.
Play on your phone, tablet or computer
FizzPoker is a web app, so the same table works everywhere: one friend on an iPhone, another on an Android tablet, you on a laptop. The layout adapts to the screen, portrait or landscape.
There’s no voice or video chat built in, so run a FaceTime, Zoom or Discord call alongside for the table talk. If you play often, add FizzPoker to your home screen and it opens full-screen like an app, with no app store involved.
Questions people ask
Can I play Texas Hold’em online for free?
Yes. Several sites and apps offer free play-money Hold’em. FizzPoker deals No-Limit Texas Hold’em in your browser for 2–9 players at no cost: tables for up to four players and one bot need no account, and a free account (an email sign-in link, no password or card) unlocks 5–9 seats and more bots.
Do I need to download an app to play Texas Hold’em?
Not on FizzPoker. The whole game runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and your friends join from the link you send them. If you like app-style launching, you can add it to your home screen from the browser.
Can I play Texas Hold’em alone, against the computer?
Yes. As host you add bots to open seats before the game starts, choosing a level from 1 (easiest) to 5 (hardest). One bot for a heads-up game needs no account; more bots need a free account. Bots are always labeled at the table, and you can mix them with friends.
How many players do you need for Texas Hold’em?
Two to nine at one table. Two players is heads-up, where the dealer posts the small blind and acts first before the flop; three to six is short-handed, and seven to nine is a full ring. You can start as soon as two players are seated.
How long does a free game of Texas Hold’em take?
It depends on the number of players and the blind speed. Blinds rise every 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes, depending on the speed you pick; on normal speed they reach the last level, 2,000/4,000, after 1 h 50 min, when a 10,000-chip stack is worth only 2.5 big blinds. When the game actually ends depends on how the chips move: one big all-in can decide a heads-up game in the first level.
Is free Texas Hold’em played for real money?
No. On FizzPoker the chips have no cash value: there are no buy-ins, no chips to buy, no prizes and no payouts. You play for the win and the bragging rights.
